Homemade Acai bowls

I have a new favorite breakfast. Acai bowls.

Delish.

You can find packets in your frozen food aisle. If you like a thicker texture, toss it in the blender with some frozen strawberries or ice.

Pour the acai mixture in a bowl. My favorite toppings: banana slices, blueberries, chopped walnuts, and sliced almonds. Sprinkle some shredded coconut and drizzle honey.

I could eat this every day and never get tired of it.

Thankful to be tired

The past couple weeks have kicked my butt. I’m sooooo tired! Maybe it’s because it’s a frigid cold Michigan February.

But I think there’s more to it. During my quiet time this morning, as I struggled to stay awake, it hit me…and I became so thankful for these sleepy, worn out feelings!!

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway, again I will say rejoice.

I am tired because I have a house and a family to take care of.

I’m tired because things are slowly getting back to “normal” and I get to drive my kids around to sports and watch them compete.

I’m tired because I stayed up late hanging out with my husband and spending quality time together.

I’m tired because I have 2 silly dogs who wake me up so much earlier than necessary (ok this one is a stretch…this is actually very annoying)

I’m tired because I have a job to go to every day.

I’m tired because I spend my busy days surrounded by people I love.

Thank you God for making me so very tired in the best way possible!! ♡

A verse a week

I am trying something new this year. I am commited to memorize one Bible verse each week.

We are a month into the new year – the time when most resolutions start to dwindle and fade.

Hang in there!

If you made a resolution, I hope you are sticking with it!

If you didn’t, this is a great habit.

I read the verse a few times a day, write it down, and repeat. It has not been hard to find a verse each week. Actually, they usually find me 🙂 I bought a cheap planner to keep track of each verse. This also makes it easy to re-read previous verses.

In case you are looking for a place to start, here’s what I have memorized so far…

Week 1

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; Again I will say, rejoice.

Week 2

Proverbs 11:24 One gives freely yet grows all the richer; Another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

Week 3

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

Week 4

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Week 5

Isaiah 26:3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Send me your suggestions for week 6!
