Delicious Summer Protein Smoothie Recipes

I am such a creature of habit. Every morning I have the same protein smoothie – delicious – but getting boring! You can read about my tried and true morning smoothie here.

Time to change things up a bit! I have found some very delicious recipes to share. Frozen fruit works well because it gives the iced texture and it lasts a lot longer than fresh fruit. This allows me to have a larger variety of options. If you are using fresh ingredients, I would suggest adding some ice before blending.

Now that I am pushing 40, I have started using Collagen powder. I add this to my smoothies as well and have found it to blend right in and not alter the taste at all.

Blueberry Cheesecake Protein Smoothie

Either fresh or frozen blueberries and spinach will work! If I use fresh, then I add ice. If I use frozen, then I don't.

  • 1 cup Blueberries
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 8 oz Almond milk
  • 1 scoop Vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tsp Cheesecake pudding mix
  1. Mix all ingredients, blend, and enjoy!

Peach Cobbler Protein Smoothie

This takes like Peach Cobbler in a glass! So refreshing and delicious!

  • 1 cup frozen peaches (If using fresh, add ice)
  • 1 scoop Vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz Almond milk
  1. Mix all ingredients, blend, and enjoy!

Chicken protein bowls

I am loving the ability to make lunch while working from home. I have a new favorite that’s full of protein and fiber, so it keeps me full.

It is a simple recipe, quick and easy to make, and tastes delicious!

Ingredients:

  • Black beans
  • Brown rice
  • Avocado
  • Grilled chicken
  • Lime juice
  • Cilantro

Tips:

Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken Breasts are an easy swap if you don’t have time to make fresh chicken.

If using canned black beans, rinse them first to reduce sodium.

A small squeeze of lime juice is all you need to give it some flavor.

Add tomatoes, greek yogurt, or garbanzo beans to mix things up.

One Protein bars

Protein bars are my go to snack when I am hungry on the run. They are easy to throw in your car or purse and have on hand. While they are not as good as fresh fruit or veggies, they are better than candy or chips.

#balance

One Protein bars have become my new favorite. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they are and will keep you full with 20 grams of protein and not a lot of sugar.

Fooducate gives them a B+ which is the highest score possible for protein bars.

Birthday cake is my fav, chocolate chip cookie dough is my 2nd fav.

They are gluten free, but do contain dairy so read the label if you are on a specific diet.

Happy snacking!
